THREE technical support reps told me this TiVo model would support external storage which it doesn't. To add icing on this cake, TiVos business practices are questionable.
Because of the cost and the reliability issues I'd advise against buying "anything" from TiVo. The TiVo Box (the two tuner model) is a piece of junk so don't buy this WD Drive for external storage because it will not work!! To be clear, this isn't a short coming of the drive but of the TiVo Box. So this is more of a review of the TiVo Edge product rather than the WD My Book Drive. In fact the two USB 3.0 ports on the back of the TiVo Edge are non-functional. The WD My Book AV 1TB may be a great product but it doesn't work with the TiVo Edge Over-The-Air (OTA) Antenna like TiVo technical support said it would. Don't buy this product to work with the TiVo Edge Antenna Product!
